1990 Joined Myles Ahead cc as a Member

Responsible for PC & software maintenance

Products included ‘clone’ and ICL PC’s, giving me a thorough understanding of PC design and functionality.

1991 Joined Prolan as a Technician

Responsible for PC, software and LAN support

Products included Compaq PC’s & File-servers, various vendors’ LAN hardware and Banyan, Novell and Microsoft NOS’s.

1992 -1995 Worked part-time for Prolan (now Computer Alliance)

Worked as a technician during the vacation times of my varsity period. This included a three month on-site placement doing help-desk support and workflow development (utilizing Beyond mail).

1996 to current Working at Persetel QData Networks (ex QData Networks, ex Computer Alliance) full-time as a Pre-Sales Consultant

Consulting: I am primarily focused with pre-sales consulting for our sales teams, and handle RFIs, Investigations, Demonstrations, Pilots and initial installation proceedings. The main workload lies with consulting to, and investigating solutions for clients. In responding to an RFP, I would identify the appropriate technology, design a solution and draft a technical motivation. This work is usually accomplished as part of a team.

Project Management: Project management forms part of my job function during network implementation. I was responsible for project managing a nation-wide rollout of X28, X25 and routed sites (utilizing Chase terminal servers, Duxbury PADs and Welfleet routers). I was also responsible for the network management reporting for this network, as well as network reconfigurations.
